YACT bolt on ground effects....

I'm going to buy this car > 02 Honda Accord EX

but I like the body kit on this car > 00 Honda Accord EX

While the one with the body kit is cheaper, and doesn't have that many more miles, the one w/o is 2 years newer, was the only year of that generation that didn't have major transmission problems, has a much longer warranty (certified car), and is just newer...

I want them to take the body kit off the older one and put it on the one i want.. too my knowledge most kits are bolt on.. i figure it would take like 2 hours or something if they know what they are doing..

Reasonable request?

Most I've seen aren't bolt on. Most including mine (except the airdam) may be anchored with a screw or two. The rest is two sided tape. Unless you want to do some glass work I suggest you just get a kit for the newer one........

and no.....I don't consider it a reasonable request. The kit could be covering imperfections on the car and also leave a "mark" making it harder to sell......

It's the same generation car. That kit will bolt on.

edit: i didn't completely read the question, oops. anyways... 2 hours... maybe. but they also need to take off the oem front bumper from the other car. also, they just might not care about lining it up and all.

edit2: i can't tell if the rear is also a lip kit. those are hard to take off and even harder to put back on correctly (no gaps, etc). the sides should be very easy though. honestly, a shop would charge .... 600$ at least to take off and reinstall a kit and oem stuff. maybe you can tell them that you'll buy it as long as they allow a 3rd party shop to do the work and you'll pay the shop.

Not a reasonable request.

Chances of screwing up the paint or screwing up the body kit while pulling it off are pretty good.

They would also have to buy a bunch of quality 2 sided tape, and who knows if there was any drilling involved in the installation.

And of course you would expect them to warranty the re-installation if something went wrong.

How many more posts are we going to get about you buying a car?

Well...considering the type of person that normally buys a car like that, they may have an easier time selling a stock Accord vs. one with that kit on it. That could work in your favor. You can maybe use that as a bargaining chip when you ask them about it.

I don't know the amount of work required for it though.

Nah....it is in St. Louis and the one with the body kit is in the magic $250/month price range. I doubt they will have too much trouble selling it...........
