YACT: Batmobile powered by a chevy V8

Ya the cars been here in Toronto for the last few days promoting the movie...my friend seen it down on King street, it sounds pretty mean 🙂

...oh, and if you need a part for a Chevy, they're cheap and easy to get. Every mechanic that's worth being called a mechanic can work on a Chevy SB.

Didn't you see it on Top Gear? It was built in England apparently...and from other mags that I've read, I think they built 4 copies originally.

The article says 8 were made:

"Eight Batmobiles were built for the movie. One was damaged en route to the set when it was struck by a drunk driver. "

It also says it was clocked at 105 mph, so I bet it has more than the stated 340 HP.

Um, you don't need an insane amount of horsepower to go 105mph. You might to do 0-60 in 5 seconds with 6000lb curb weight, but not to do 105mph. (That's the equivalent of a Cadillac Escalade with 4 people in it, minus the .3L of displacement)

Why? My old Prizm only had 125 or so HP, and did over 105mph.

Those tires are Interco's TSLs and are Speed rated "Q", or < 100 MPH. I had the tread come off of 2 Thornbirds at about 70. I wonder how many ssets of TSL's they went though.
