Well, I noticed that the rust near the fenders and shock towers has gotten pretty bad as of late. It worries me... a lot... is this common? Any of you guys have experience with this? Any ghetto way of fixing it temporarily... and what might be a permanent solution.

Dammit... car's running great enjoying the nice weather too. When I bought this car, I just thought is was surface rust and it wouldn't really do anything... 🙁
 
"Just surface rust" will always become a big problem unless you have it dealt with immediately. Once it starts it progresses seemingly exponentially. Go to a body shop and get an estimate, but have another person along with you to catch you when the estimate's price knocks you on your arse.
