YACT- Applying for a loan

If you have a 780 credit score and your co-signer has almost no credit at all, does that hurt your chances of you getting the loan?

I have no solid work history. I think my credit score might be higher, around 810. The reason is my parents use my name on all their stuff and they use credit cards under my name. I don't care, it gives me a good credit score and they won't screw me over.

All I have is this credit score and I want to apply for a student loan. I'm thinking my no solid work history might hurt me.

Are your parent co-signing for the loan? If so why would they have a low score?

No I don't want my parents to be part of this. My girlfriend will be co-signing for the loan and she barely has a history of credit. Maybe 3-4 months at the most. But she has a solid work history (doubt that matters).

I'm not bragging. I can only apply for a loan once and if I'm rejected there is no chance I can apply again right away and get approved. Just laying out all the facts to see if I am qualified. I guess I will apply on my own then? If my girlfriend's co-sign can help I'll do it, but nobody has really said if I should or not.

No I don't have 10k in my savings anymore. I have $300, lol.

You sure do like talking about your high credit score...

That's all I know when it comes to my credit score. I'm not bragging at all. I didn't establish it to brag about it.

i'm a moron...

Aimster, I thought this was for a CAR loan....oops. My bad. Go ahead and apply for a student loan. I'd recommend checking out www.bankone.com . You've got a great credit score, and it can pay off big time for you now if you NEED the student loan.

Cheers,

Rarely anyone ask for proof of income. Just put down something reasonable if you want.

Isn't work history part of your credit report?

Your employer is listed and nothing else. Rarely, if ever, does a creditor care about the employment section of your credit report. They go by what you put down. I've only got ONE Bureau actually reporting my employer correctly and Equifax reports NOTHING.

Is this car for you or for her? Who is going to be paying for it?

Student loan. $7,000 from this bank: Suntrust.com (which is authorized by salliemae).

I will be paying for it when I graduate from school. She won't pay for anything.

ok thanks everyone for their help. I'll apply when I do more research on the different loans available from different banks. Thanks kyparrish for the site, will check it out.

Then if she is ok with it, go for it.
