Just wondering if anyone has. Vantera needs a new starter, usually takes me 10 tries to get the biatch started and its getting worse. Im about to go pick up a starter at Autozone for 60 bucks.

It might be time to get vantera the second. Aerostars are a royal Biatch to work on. My Grandparents had a '92, and my dad worked on it. I've never heard him curse so much. Apparently a little tight in the engine area.

Well, Im no sure where the starter is at, but I remember someone telling me that it was fairly easy to get to from underneath (course we were both pretty high at the time, so who knows how credible that is). It was a reall pain in the arse changing hte starter on my dad's old mazda MPV minivan.

I've changed the starter on a van before (can't remember the model) and it was fairly easy. had to go underneath, remove a stabilizer bar, and use a jointed socket driver. kind of a pain but it didn't take very long, and was pretty straight forward.

V6 3.0L, its the only model made in 1989. Funny thing is that it is the "sports" package cause it has no luxuries at all and it is a manual transmission.

The 2WD version calls for one hour labor. The AWD version is 1.5.

It doesn't sound like a difficult procedure if it only pays an hour. If I were you I would remove the old starter first so you can be sure to get the correct one by comparing the new and the old. Also, it will save you a trip for the core charge.

Well I already got the starter since Autozone is right near my work, so no big deal, I will probably change it out sunday. Oh yeah, mine is the 2WD.

One more word of advice. Work on it while it's cold. It sounds like it won't start anyway, but just in case, don't get the idea of starting it to work on it in a better place unless you want to let it sit for a couple of hours before starting on it.
