Taking a corner at 60 won't be. and yes damn sure I will take one in a vette.

It will defeat the purpose of owning a sports car if you will drive it like a festiva.

WHy would you take a corner at 60 in a vette on the open road? Do you like to put everyone else at risk?

I agree, but I think andy was being a little sarcastic. Very few cars can take corners at 60. I've taken an off ramp at 60 and I feel that I was breaking the threshold of my car. I would never drive my car on the threshold of losing control on a public road. There's a time and place for that and it's a track.

If you can't afford to go to a track then maybe you shouldn't be playing the sports car game.

However, having a sports car to make driving to work a little more fun should be a good reason to buy a sports car.

As many have state an S2000 is wicked fun. But not a good general useage car IMO. Mainly for it's lack of storage. I don't care about passengers personally, but I like to be able to haul lots of stuff that normal people would carry around (luggage, computers, monitors, occaisonal home depot stuff).

all depends on the corner... some corners, rated at low speeds, can be taken at MUCH higher speeds in a sports car.

Eclipse is not a sports car. It is an overweight, FWD, Mitsu POS that doesn't deserve the term "sporty."

Exige is made by Lotus, yes? Definitely a sports car, but not the most practical one I'd imagine. Not to mention relatively underpowered.

STi Limited is a fine automobile; I'm not an EVO fan, but they are fast as all hell and handle extremely well out of the box.

Who said anything about the Eclipse?

And who said anything about practical? We are just laughing at an idiot that doesn't think 4 cyclinder engine can't be seen in a sport car.

No. It said Elise. I added the /Exige.

As for "underpowered", it also weighs under 2000 pounds and tears out a sub 5 second 0-60. It also can pull over 1.0 g's. It's quite possibly one of the best handling production vehicles available.

Agreed, a great car overall, but less practical than pretty much 95% of other cars and on the straight away will get killed by anything with a V8...all depends on your priorities!

You could get an '83 - 89 Chrysler Conquest or Mitsubishi Starion...
2.6L turbo, RWD, LSD, intercooler (on the later ones), 188 HP....Although, these require a bit more care than most other cars and can be a money pit unless you do a lot of work yourself.

Or, you can get one that already has a nice Ford 302 V-8 conversion and not worry about the turbo 4 cyl setup....
