YACT: Any experience with Kemper car Insurance?

Anyone have Kemper car Insurance? I was doing web quotes on www.insweb.com and they had the lowest quotes by far of everyone else listed.

This is monthly cost quoted for "standard coverage" ($100,000/$300,000 Bodily Injury Liability w/ $500 Collision and $500 Comprehensive deductibles) on a '99 Honda Accord coupe (I4, not the v6) I live in Los Angeles.

Kemper Direct $103.75
Amica Insurance Company $126.28
GMAC $185.00
The Hartford $201.15
Explorer Insurance Company $206.15
Deerbrook $211.27
Leader Insurance $218.50
Unitrin $263.00
Republic Indemnity $302.33

Anything good or bad to say about them?

I know the ATT Wireless here in the Bay Area is insured by Kemper. I'll tell you how they are after they've offered me a settlement for when one of their insured drivers negligently broadsided me while going 55 on the freeway...

That's the biggest test for an Insurance Company. Not how much it costs but how they respond when thier services are required. I hope you're all right, MastaTam. Take care of yourself.🙂

I'm doing fine... nothing but a little broken hand that's all healed now. Thanks for asking SF. They did take care of all the repairs, which totaled a little under $13k, as well as 67 days of rental fees. The Kemper agent was even ok with the fact that I refused to sign the medical history release.

Had them in the 70's.

When our vehicle was rear-ended, they took car of everything.

that's good that you're doing well. How did they broadside you on the freeway, were you changing lanes?

Alright, I'm bumping this again, because I've put an offer in a on a car, same one mentioned above, and Kemper is less than 100/month.

For 12 month period:

Bodily Injury Liability Person/Accident 100,000/300,000 321.00
Property Damage Liablity $100,000 180.00
Medical Payments 36.00
Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury
Person/Occurence 30,000/60,000 64.00
Comprehensive $500 deduc - 173.00
Collision $500 deduc 385.00
Towing $50 - each occurence 5.00
Extended Transportation 14.00

Total $1178/12 months

Kemper is awesome about taking care of claims. One of the best in the industry, no question.

If you like your rates raised often from what your initial binder cost, they are awesome as well.😉

what do you mean, raised often, like they're lowballing me, then they'll raise my rates in a few months? will they raise my rates without any claims?
