If your young, single, and know how to drive to get mileage when you have to you are not taking much of a hit driving a Mustang over anything even comparable to the fun factor. I would take the gas mileage of a V8 anyday instead of having to drive an ugly boring no torque Honda.
I wasn't talking about fuel economy. 😕 There are so many times I wish I had more room in my car. If I were going to buy a second, I'd get something I can fit a bunch of junk in. I don't know how the new Mustangs compare to the last generation, but my brother's Mustang is probably comparable to my car in cargo space.
When everyone you know has an SUV or a truck of some sort that is not an issue. I borrow vehicles for hauling....I drive cars that haul ass.
I've never really wished for more room than the 944 has. The Mustang's trunk is actually much more useful than the Lincoln's, which is too shallow.

Make sure your mustang wasn't test driven like this one

HOLY CRAP i almost feel bad for the sales guy in that... although he was a moron to let them go without a drivers license...

I guess he was REALLY desperate to make a sell that day... Though you do have to remember that many of the potential buyers for a car like that, do look@act like these guys...

See if you can get an X-Plan if you have any friends or family that work for a Ford Company...no need to pay anything over invoice. I've had mine for over a year and no issues with it, what so ever....except it's a cop magnet. Don't know if they are admiring the car or just waiting for me to do something stupid 😀

WIth a good driver, i will guarantee you an 06 Civic Si will run all over a regular mustang and should at the very least keep up with a GT.

I nearly spit my coffee all over the place reading that. Please tell me you aren't serious. Keep up with a Mustang GT?

Bwahahahahahaha! Maybe on an AutoX course...and that's it. On any significant test of performance, a GT would dominate the Civic SI. The only one it doesn't completely win is the 70-0 stopping distance, and that's just by a few feet.

Other than that, the pony would leave the Civic in the dust.

Until it snows

Bullsh!t. I've been driving mine in the winter up here in NH for the past 10 years. Get a decent set of snow tires, and don't drive like a moron, it's a piece of cake.

No, it won't.

Ah yes...it was a good laugh

I'm cowering in fear from the power of the mighty VTEC!:laugh:

My dad daily drives his 02 GT as his work car and should have around 200k miles on it by now. Its been extremely reliable just like the 96 4.6l t-bird he had before that that finally died at 300k miles when the head cracked. He gets around 26mpg highway on regular which isn't too shabby for what the car is. The 05+ engine is a bit different but hopefully will hold up just aswell.

The mustang has its own VTEC.

No X-Plan for me. 🙁 And my weekend car is a red Porsche, so I'm familiar with the concept of a Cop magnet.

I have enough problems not losing my license with the Porsche. The 475hp of the GT500 is only going to cause me and my insurance agent problems. Granted, they'd be fun problems for a while, but overall... 😛

'06 owner here, you'll love the car. Also realize you will gain about 10 lbs in your right foot, no solution for that though 🙂
