YACT: Adhesive remover

Hello Guys,
I am in need of a quality adhesive remover that won?t harm or discolor paint or plastic trim. I used to use a product called acryl-solv that worked like a charm, but I am out and nobody in my area still carries it.

What do you guys use to remove adhesive residue from paint and/or plastic?

Example: Masking tape that dried out on the roof of a car.

Along the same lines....what about pine sap? I have a spot on the hood of my new Exploder I really want to get off, but I'm afraid of messing up the clear coat. 🙁

Probably not the best idea to use WD40 on painted surfaces. To get pine sap off of a car, use Bug and Tar remover. Spray the area liberally and let it sit, then wipe it off and wash the area. You can also try 3M Adhesive Remover.

I use Goo Gone on my cars' exteriors and it works great w/o messing the paint up. Also works great for removing the crappy thermal gunk on stock heatsinks.

I've got some Turtle Wax bug and tar remover that works really good for that.
