YACT: Accelerator close to ground.

My roomate wants to buy this car...it has about 130k on it. When i drove it, everything seems fine but the accelerator is quite close to the floor. I pretty much gotta floor it to move fast. Doesn't stick or anything just that accelerator pedal is real close to ground.

Any car gurus have any idea if thats a warning sign for some problem?

Might just be a loose throttle cable. Nothing big. Nothing else common that I can think of. Of course, it could also just be the way the car is.

I agree with the loose throttle cable diagnosis, but how does that actually happen? I guess if the sheath is broken that might happen, or if it isn't connected to the throttle body properly...

do u have to get it tightened?...or sheath fixed?...costly?

The cable might be like an $80 part if you actually need to replace it. Otherwise it would take a mechanic maybe 10 minutes to fix it.
