There's a 1995 BMW 530i (3.0L V8) 5-speed with 127K miles for sale near where I live. They want $11K for it, but I bet I could talk them down to $10K.

Even worth considering?

Im not sure about the price exactly, but im somewhat familiar with that car and its features. If its in good to great condition, then yes. Otherwise NO.

I took a brief look at it. Interior was pretty junky, but perhaps nothing a good detailing wouldn't fix. Probably indicative of how they treated it, though.

I wouldnt consider paying that much money for an 8 year old car, Bimmer or not.

The maintenance and repairs would be quite a financial burden.

EDIT

kbb.com puts the car at around $9700 or so in your area code, although I didnt know specifics on options or condition.

that's alot of miles, but its a good car so it can probably handle it.

The 530 is a 3.0 6 cylinder. Great car, somewhat rare actually. Plenty of the 525's.

My Uncle put 285K on his 535i before he sold it.

You'd be right if we were talking about the E39 5-series, but I'm talking about E34. E34 V8s came in 3.0 and 4.0L form.

used honda's and stuff aren't a big deal since their repairs are cheap, but bmw, man you might as well by a tube of ky at the same time

with that money, go with a nice Honda or Toyota. Parts for BMW are crazy expensive.

for that money you can get a low mileage focus or a new hyundai..

stay away.. BMW's are expensive to maintain.. we have one, ours is at 114K.. if something goes wrong major on this car we are dumping it.
