YACT: 95 Buick Regal 3.8L 165K miles

sometimes when i give this car about 50% throttle the ABS light comes on and stays on until i kill the car...usually happens when i'm going about 35mph and i give it a little gas to accelerate and it's in second gear...happens about 3000 to 3600rpm...it doesn't seem to affect the operation of the automobile...it's just annoying to have that orange light on my dash...any ideas?

o yeah, it's not throwing any trouble codes 😕

also the motor seems to drag a little bit right around this area as well...once it hits about 4K it seems to stop...dunno if that's related or not, though.

i was going to guess a wheel sensor up until you said the motor was dragging... if it drags and then the light comes on and the dragging goes away it sounds like the pump is running when it shouldn't be (which could still be a bad wheel sensor but also something wrong with the brake switch).

so how can i check the wheel sensor and the brake switch to determine which(if either) is faulty?

Could be problems with the ABS system?
I know some of the older Bendix (I think) systems had enough problems with them to get lifetime warranties added to the major components (pumps and solenoids).

found this tidbit of knowledge there

Hello, another thing to be aware of if your Abs warning light is on . Pull out the Abs relay box from the fusebox near the battery and check for corrosion at legs of this relay. It happened to me that a leg of the 4 had corroded off causinf the warning light to be on.
