Ok... now that I've been pre-approved for my car loan, here are two vehicles I'm eyeing closely:

1. 1995 Nissan 240SX SE, 75k, $6495, Sunroof, Free Warranty, Insurance:
$2301/yr (Color: Gold)

2. 1995 Nissan Maxima GXE, 76k, $6995, Sunroof, Free Warranty,
Insurance: $2151/yr (Color: Black)

What are the pros/cons? Nearly Identical mileage. Nearly Identical Price. Both are sold at the same place. 240SX has a little higher insurance (about $13/month) but the Maxima is $500 more. The 240SX would be easier to work on (RWD) I'm assuming. The Maxima is faster and has better handling in the snow (0-60 in 7.5ish verus 0-60 in 8.3ish and FWD is better in snow/rain). Which engine is more reliable? Which car is more fuel efficient?

Which car, my friend, would you BUY, and WHY?

Seeing how I drove both a 99 Maxima and a 95 240SX regularly for over a year I can only say this:

Fun to drive (overall enjoyment) : 240SX
Faster in straight line : Maxima
Snow: While the Maxima does track better, the 240SX with snow tires will do the job just fine.

If I was in your shoes (and how I wish I was), I'd definately pick the 240SX.

Ok, good advice. I'm also leaning towards the 240sx SE for the simple fact that it is a rarer (is that a word) vehicle and this one is most like unmolested. I'm between a rock and a hard place. I've been approved for the car loan yet I have to wait for my Honda to sell.... yet if this 240 is a good deal I'd like to snatch it up before it sells. Grrr. I definitely can't afford two car payments.

I own a Maxima SE, the handling is not all that good but can be fixed with a rear sway bar. Has a lot of power!

Auto or Manual trans?

If both the same 240.

Juts looked at the pics, go with the 240. Also your not going to pay full price right?

Though the Maxima is a nicer looking car. I would rather have that 240sx (ugly color!). RWD would be more fun, plus it has tons of potential if you care to modify it any.
