YACT: 67 mustang question

i was watching mtv and the show 'pimp my ride'. and the people said they dont make rims for a 67 mustang so they had to custom rims made to fit the stang.

i find that really hard to believe. anyone know anything?

Well, they make nice wheels that are period correct but no, they don't make "rims" like you could get for a Tahoe or Expedition.

Ford used the same 4-bolt & 5-bolt pattern on the mustang from 1964 to 1973. I have bought several different style rims in the past for my customers without any problems.

May the company did make that bolt pattern because is was so old.

Also, if you look closely, they didn't *have* to "custom make" the wheels. They used adapter plates. They might have had to make an adapter plate; but nonetheless.

Aren't those just chromed Torq Thrust-D's?

EDIT: at least car 3. And yeah, my friend has some ugly ass wheels on his '65. He just doesn't know what he wants to replace them with (tho he's working on a set of drag lights)

Car 3 and/or 4 might be (they're similar at least) Car 1 and 2 are obviously different. Even if they are torq-thrusts, how are they not rims?

Less pimped rims exist that would fit the car without any modifications or extras, but they were apparently set on a style of rims that weren't compatible. I wasn't too pleased with how that car turned out, except the paint job and the flame thrower tailpipes. Too bad they had to take them off.

They are rims, but they're still not nearly as gaudy as the ones you'd be seeing on Pimp my Ride...

Agreed. Those oversized chrome hoops don't look right on classic 'stangs.

They meant that they couldn't find wheels ugly enough for the car so they had to make them.

Those wheels that they bastardized the nice Mustang lines with were horrendous.

Well off course they don't make huge "bling bing" rims for '67 mustangs... Bling Bling is a new and horrible trend and 67 mustangs are a beautiful part of automotive history...
