go for the cobalt since you seem to really like it. personally i wouldn't buy an american new because you'll lose a lot of money for sure
someone is mad that the "american" car offers more bang for your buck, and well, has very little wrong with it...

what he meant is the resale value of Cobalt is going to be substantially less than civic in the future.
The new civic come with 100,000miles warranty too? you can't install ABS on the civic?
I think civic get better mileage (mpg)...thats good when you hav rising oil prices. Well, if there a problem with insurance, you might able to take defensive driving cost to lower ur yearly insurance cost (depend on which state you are in).
I go with the Civic, but Cobalt seem much cheaper insurance wise.

abs is a computer driven thing, with different brakes and what not.
new civic only comes with a 3 year gen. warranty and i think a 5 year powertrain.

it seem you like the Cobalt more, and it seem like you can get it at a cheaper price + saving on insurance. why bother with the Civc.
how often do you put ABS in use anyway? My mom accord has ABS which I never find useful.

my dads been on a track with identical cars, one ABS, one non. launch up to 60mph, and stop as hard as possible, the ABS stops shorter, and much more controlled.
when you live in the snowbelt region of ohio, you have ABS whenever you go to stop in the snow its quite useful.
