YACT - 2004 TL vs SRT

it sounded good.

Well we were at a light and revved motors. we both took off and by the time I hit 2nd gear I heard it spin up - whooooosh..pssssst.

Damn turbo.

It was moderatlely close and then he pulled me easily. That and I got some wheel spin in 1st because it was cold (not off the line, just accelerating) Overall a no contest.

My girlfriend was with me and said "gee, seems like he enjoyed that"

we both laughed and I simply said "you heard it. damn turbo"

That thing was quick, and again sounded really nice. If I didn't like the luxury of my 3rd gen TL the SRT4 would be a nice fast ride.

Eh, I'd still take the TL over an SRT. At any rate, you just have to realize there will always be someone faster then you are. Just gotta like what you have

It really did sound good. Not ricey at all. Hats off to the dude for keeping it nice and clean.

<---had to choose between an STi and the TL. Still happy with purchase.

Heh. I was like WTF when I was almost burned by an '04 E320 once. All I could think was it shouldn't be this fast!!!

SRT-4 is an incredible bargain for <$21K. It's been well documented putting out nearly it's rated HP at the WHEELS.

Scary power for that kind of money, if only Dodge would put that plant in a RWD platform. Think Razor with that engine...

I remember when a "sports car" having 200+ hp/tq was incredible.

We've got a lot of good motors/cars out now. Not just 2 or 4, but a whole plethora of good choices.

Won't be too long before 300 hp will be standard V6 family sedan fare.

Between the horsepower wars &amp; the revival of RWD it is a very, very good time to be a car nut.

A SRT4 runs the 1/4 mile in 13.5 or so, a 2004 TL does it in 14.8.

DAMN impressive for a 4 cyl.

There aren't many cars that can do that, let alone with only 4 cylinders &amp; a $21K window sticker.

Uh, hate to break it to you, but your TL isn't fast. Its a nice car, but its not fast. I haven't gotten a clean run with a TL yet, but the one that jumped me (stock SVT Focus) pulled about 2 1/2 cars on me from a 20 punch. The dick wouldn't go after that :|

A stock SRT would own you. A modded SRT would drag you all over the place.

I don't see what you're saying. A stock srt4 would walk you, a modified one would destroy you.
