YACT: 2003 Ford Taurus 137k Miles for 5 grand... Good deal?

I was just bored messing arround on Autotrader today and came across this
Its rather high milage, but newer. Anyone have any experience with these things? I know the auto transmissions in them are not that wonderful, but any other downsides (besides being a Ford 😛). I love my current car but I am afraid it is about to turn into a money pit.

You could probably go a year or two older, a grand more, and get half the milage.

no way, we got a 2003 Taurus with 80k for about 4 grand about a year ago.

That's generaly what I thought too, but I would think that most of them are highway miles.
In any case I was just asking, no real interest.

Sorry, but way too much mileage for $5K. Try going a year or two older and get something with less mileage.

Yeah, it's not so much that the mileage is a problem, but it's the price they are asking for it.
