Yeah get the Civic if you want the good gas milage. I read on edmunds that you can get up 500 highway miles and 400 city miles which is pretty darn good. Get the Integra if you want a sporty car and wanna rev the shizzles out of the engine like crazy....

the newer civics are much better looking IMO. I would definitely get the 01 civic. I think it's odd to have a sport compact car name the same as it's 4 door sedan version. Like...err Nissan 300zx & 300zx 4 Door.

that's just weird.

Actually that's not really the case since the LS doesn't have a high revving engine like the GSR. I suspect gas milage will be similar and LS has more power and is just a nicer car overall.

edit:

'99 'teg LS Sedan: 24/31 auto and 25/231 stick
'01 Civic EX: 32/37 stick and 30/38 auto

Hmm, well, to me I'd still rather have the 'teg.

I'd go for the civic.

It's newer and has better crash safety ratings and designs.
Generally has lower insurance rates than the integra. Integras at one time were the most stolen honda/acura, and still even now have rather high insurance rates compared to a civic.
The '01 civics have slightly better fuel economy than the integras.

though i must admit that i am partial to the integras as well.

Don't get the Civic if you're looking for good gas mileage. Yes, my 2002 auto was rated for 30/38 but my real life results (extensive gas mileage tracking for 16 months) provided an average of 28mpg driving 80% highway, 20% city. I always checked my tire pressure, kept my car free of anything heavy, rarely used the AC, kept the windows up on the highway, etc.

Goto www.7thgencivic.com and look at the gas mileage results in the forums. Some people will say BS like "Dude, I Get 40 MPG!!!!" but never have any data. Those of us who tracked gas mileage to a T, regularly got between 25-33 MPG.

i've hit 45mpg ('98 civic lx sedan, auto) on a tank while i was driving from washington->nj...but during daily driving i think i only got around 25-28mpg...

our new '03 civic lx sedan (auto) gets even worse gas mileage than that :( ... our '93 maxima @ 27mpg almost every week seems to be the most fuel efficient car we have now.

Yep =( My Maxima (I30) hovers around 26mpg, which isn't much worse than the 28mpg I was getting in the Civic.
