I am in the market a new/used car and my friend is selling his 2001 BMW 530I to upgrade to a new M3. The car has less then 28K miles. The manufacture warranty is 3 years 36K miles which means it's still under manufacture warranty. What should I be concern with buying a used BMW beside the high maintenance cost. Any opinion of the BMW 530I would be greatly appreciate.
 
I've driven plenty of 5.40 and 5.30 line BMWs and they are great cars. If he offers you a good deal, I would get it. But then again, I would never buy/sell a car from/to a friend/family member.
