That depends on the price. You could probably get $4500 for it, running, so ask for $2500, and I'm sure it would sell.

If you can spot the cash temporarily...see what they sell for in the papers... You might be able to find a cheap mechanic to swap the tranny out and eat the cost up front to make more on the sale.

You will automatically have to knock $2000-$2500 off of that price, to compensate for the repair. However, get a quote from a repair shop, and you will be able to say, "Here's the value of the car in running condition. Here's the cost of the repair. I'll knock off an extra $100 (or $200, whatever) from that."

my dads got a 96 i4 with 205k mile on it.. it still runs well, so your car with rebuilt tranny should last another 100k with good maintenance
