It shifts the first time around 20-30mph, and then stays in the next gear all the way up to 50 mph where Im afraid to make it go much faster (high rpm).

I have the TCC unplugged, but its been like that for over a month and this is the first time it has acted up like this.

Transmission repairs are almost always expensive.............

I was so frustrated by the last automatic I owned that this time I bought stick.........if this transmission ever dies, I will take great pleasure in RAMMING THE GOD DAMNED STICK INTO GEAR. I AM IN CHARGE DAMNIT! WHEN I SAY GO, GO!*

*I will only do this destructive behavior when the transmission has completely failed and the car has a value of 32 cents.

It's very frustrating having an automatic completely fail. You press the gas, the rpms go up, and nothing happens. Ever.
