Alot of Nissan cars are still around (good drivetrains). Granted the QR25 is a new engine, most of the problems with it and the tranny have been hammered in the '03 models.. Moreover, parts wise, it'll be cheaper in the long run as there's a *WHOLE* bunch of QR25's running around (eq. 02->current 4 cyl altimas and SE-R's). The MFG 5 year power train warranty also helps.
uhhh, have you even sat in 2001+ civic? The interior quality matches the altima if not exceeds. The new accords match entry level german cars for interior quality. Toyotas ugly? So what does that make nissan with their new bucktooth grills? Toyotas also have a 5 yr powertrain warranty, nissan is hardly special there. A whole bunch of 2.5s floating around huh? The corolla 1zz motor has been in use since 1998 and is in the matrix/vibe, corolla/prizm, celica and spyder. The corolla is now the most produced car on the face of the planet. Parts availability is not a problem. It'd be nice if people knew what the hell they were talking about sometimes.

I concur :)

The interior quality of the altima is definitely quite awfull, the bucktooth was also a bad idea.

But please, he was comparing the Civic vs Corolla (and maybe the SE-R, or the 2.5L Altima) which are pretty much in the same price-range.. Let' s not bring in the more luxurious cars like Accord vs Maxima vs Camry and their interiors as those are not in the same price range.

I purchased the base model '04 Corolla (you have to drag/drop....stupid webshots!) off the truck about 5 weeks ago. Very nice car. The only options I got was a dealer installed rear wing. My wife is the main driver and she loves it. It has pretty decent pick-up-and-go and handles pretty well for it's shape. I have a '99 Civic EX and like the Corolla much better. I didn't test a new Civic (had 5 over the years and am just tired of them :)). The '99 is going bye-bye in about 2 weeks when my Mini-Cooper S get's off the boat ( '04 that is:)).

By the way.....if you get the Corolla...you should really think about getting the Indio Blue Metallic paint. I have had several people stop me and ask about the color. It looks terrific in the sunlight!

SDC

PS: It has a trunk that you could either smuggle a few dead bodies in or smuggle a few friends into a drive-in with (now i'm dating myself...see a few posts down) take your pick.

Corolla except I would go with the LE or CE dont like the wings they put on the S. I have a 2003 Corolla CE with 20000 Miles on it and it's been a perfect car so far. :)
