YACT: 02 Trailblazer LS

Looking at possibly purchasing an 02 Trailblazer LS. 39k miles, 4wd, towing package, power windows and locks.

Any comments on the vehicle?

Right now I can get it for $16195, but I'm sure I can talk the guy down even more. KBB value puts it at just over $20k

$16k is too much

see if you can find local used car dealer that takes people with him to used car auctions, usually dealers here charge $300

there two major auction companys nationwide manheim.com and adesa

that year and mileage should cost you around 10k at auction

my friend in 2002 bought 2000 chevy blazer for $7k

Just my $0.02 but if you plan on running it "till it dies," it may not be your best choice.

why is that? do you have any information to back up your post or are you just talking out your ass? and why did you put 'till it dies' in quotes? no one else had mentioned that in this thread. so who are you quoting?

mom has an envoy, thing tows really well. the engine is very strong. the back seat is a little uncomfortable. only problems have been the left taillight and something with the AC.

Heres why:

Quoted directly from Consumer Report's 2005 Buying Guide, here are their comments and ratings for the Trailblazer:

Comments: "This SUV is quiet and spacious, with a compliant low-speed ride. The vehicle falls short due to sloppy handling, uncomfortable seats, ill-fitting trim, and too much wind noise. A longer EXT model has a third-row seat. The annoying seat-mounted front safety belts can pull down uncomfortably and are hard to reach."

Predicted Reliability: 1/5 (much worse than average)
Depreciation: 3/5 (average)
Recommended: No

Also ranked second to last among mid-sized SUVs.

i wonder what they base their predicted reliability on? carpoint doesn't seem to think it's particularly unreliable. and GM's JD power rankings have been improving so that they're well above average.

Uuhhh, a 2000 blazer is a completely different and inferior animal to a trailblazer

The nearest used car auction is probably hundreds of miles from here.

I like the look of them. Wish I could afford to buy one. Still have 3 years left on my 2000 Grand Prix payment tho 😱
