Crickets are utterly fascinating. If one knows how it is possible to get a fairly accurate estimate of the ambient temperature by timing their chirps. More than one culture has considered them an omen of good fortune.

did anyone see the "pitch tampering" stuff in melbourne?

well, i don't want to speculate on whether it had any effect on the outcome of the match - but the pitch guy of MCG has like a decade of experience and it is very hard for me to believe that he didn't know a simple rule that the pitch should not be tamperd with during the middle of a match. 🙂.
 
I despise Crickets. I hate when they chirp when you are trying to sleep, and then when you get near them to smash them, they stop chirping, so you can't locate them. Pisses me off.
