YACreditT: Delinquent accounts question

Unbeknownst (sp?) to me, I had a delinquent account on my credit report from an old movie rental place. I just paid off the collection agency last week.

How long will it take till my credit reports the account as "closed" and not "delinquent" ?

Ohhhh nooo why did you pay them? You should have left it on your credit. It would have dropped off after 7 years for good, but now you reopened the 7 year window and it simply says "Collection - Paid" instead of "Collection - Unpaid" ... if you would have simply let it fall off, it would have been better.

UNLESS, you negotiated the payoff to have the item removed from all 3 credit bureaus. If you did that, it will take 30-60 days to fall off.

WHAT ???? Your'e kidding me !! I cannot beleive this.

I did not negotiate anything. I just paid what I assumed I owed.
