Here is what I have already picked:

- Carrier: Cingular. GSM technology preferred over CDMA (Travel to Europe) / Cingular preferred over T-Mobile (based on some friends experience and area coverage map).

- Plan: Nation 450min w/Rollover (no need for more minutes. The phone will only be used when out of work/home)

Here is where I need some advice:

- Where should I buy from ? Online or at a cingular store ?

- If Online, what's the difference between the cingular online-store and wirefly ? Any downside at wirefly ?

- Phone choice: Choice narrowed to Razr V3 vs Sony Ericsson Z520a (coming with free blue tooth headset) Both are free on wirefly with a 2yrs contract.

Your help will be appreciated. Thanks

might want to check out the LG CU500, just came out today - WCDMA with HSDPA and Cingular Video - schweet! $129.99 with a 2 year contract, maybe one of those online retailers has it for cheaper (or will soon)

thin like the RAZR too

just got cingular with the SE Z520a. network reception is worse than t-mobile. the Z520a is a pretty good phone (my last phone a SE T610), bright screen, small, and feels pretty good. however, the screen is very easily scratched. i'd go for a nokia 6102i, which my mom has. larger external screen, although a little larger and more plasticky. the razr is hyped. i played with it and didn't really like it. IMO SE has the best GUI.

but shop on amazon.com. many great free phones if you don't need any special employee discount which requires you to buy the phone from the cingular website. i quite like the cingular 2125 smartphone.

As far as your choice of Cingular/Terrible Mobile, I would go with Cingular as well, thought TMo phones should roam on most Cingular areas without problems. I'm more of a fan of CDMA myself but if you plan on travelling to Europe often, then a GSM phone is a better choice.

I would simply find the best deal from a reputable seller. Wirefly is a good seller and I would buy from them.

Using Phone Scoop, I compared the two and they're extremely similar in specs. Go with what looks good to you.
