Someone tell me this: HOW THE FVCK DOES THE INSURANCE COMPANY CHARGE ME A HIGHER RATE FOR AN ACCIDENT THAT IS NOT MY FAULT AND THEY DID NOT PAY OUT ON????????

They quoted me X amount for 6 months. Then they say I have a "not at fault accident" (which they did NOT pay any money on, it was just reported) and they are gonna add another Y amount of dollars to. The amount Y is not so significant when spread out over 6 months, but how the hell can they do that? Last time I had insurance with them, they told me that since that same accident wasn't my fault and that the insurance did not pay out on it, it would not affect my 6 month premium. What a load of sh|t! :|

Doesn't california have some f*cked-up rule like every accident is at least 20% your fault (even if someone hit your parked car in a parking lot)? Maybe your state has something like that.

Dont complain. Here in massachussetts our insurance rates are regulated by the state. It's socialist. And since the insurance companies all give huge amounts of money to the state politicians, they in turn keep the rates high.

It's gonna cost me $5000 to insure my car this year.

Let's hear it for my democratic shithole of a state!

$5000? what kind of car you have?

Btw, just switch your insurance company if they raise premium with no reason...that's what I did.

I don't have insurance because I didn't own a car for the past 6 months. And they already figured that into the equation. Man I hate auto insurance companies!

NC has this also. BUT he goes to bat for the people very well. One year the insurnace companies wanted to raise rates like 11%. So he opened the records looked at accidents and pay out rates compred to how much is put in etc... and he came back and told them to reduce their rates :D

After everything I think they went down like 1-2%, but still.

Of course the person for NC is elected, so that may also have something to do with it.
