YACHT: definition of sublimation

ok.

sublimation in chemistry?

isnt it like when an element goes from liquid to gas w/o doing something, i forget and i cant find the difinition in our book (its not there) and we never took notes.

also check my definitions of...

filtrate: an object used to filter out any solid material, and allow the liquid to flow through.

extraction: (this one i dunno, i know what we did, but no deifinition: we had sand & salt, mixed water in, stirred it up and let the salt dissolve into the water)

decantation: the process of pouring liquid from one container to another so as to not allow the solid to go with it.

any help appreciated.

yes, this is only the beginning of my YACHT for this school year, im in AP chemistry/organic chemistry this year.

n 1: (chemistry) a change directly from the solid to the gaseous state without becoming liquid 2: (psychology) modifying the natural expression of an impulse or instinct (especially a sexual one) to one that is socially acceptable

Going to www.dictionary.com and typing "Sublimation" is REALLY, REALLY hard.
