YACell Phone Company Thread - cancelled my TMobile subscription, hit with a 449.00 "contract termination" fee

So I bought a cell phone through ushopwireless.com (Venicom) and cancelled my contract with TMo because the service was HORRIBLE. I had no idea that I owed Venicom moneys also with the cancellation.

Now I get a nasty letter (not even addressed to me (addressed to some lady in florida), printed on some 1980's style cloud graphic paper) in the mail telling them I owe them money and if I don't get in touch with them within 30 days they will come after me.

Do I have much of a leg to stand on to fight the money I owe Venicom (i payed a hefty cancellation fee to tmo, now about 6-8 mos. later venicom is coming after me) or do I basically have to pay this fee? This is kind of a sleezy practice IMO.

Anyone have any experience with this or can provide some help?

Thanks for any help and please refrain from flaming!

If you're posting to say "oh you're screwed" post elsewhere, I know there is a problem, your post will only be a waste of bytes... and a way to up your postcount and prove you are a tard 🙂

edit: also if you are going to say it was in the contract, so pay it and stfu, that's nice, but I'm looking to get out of paying it 😛

update:: called up, told the woman that i will offer 300$ right now or ill hand it over to my lawyers... 300$ later contract is termed

The only way out (usually, my experience is with verizon) is if you say you cancelled because you dont get good enough reception where you normally use your phone.

Edit: I see that IS why you cancelled, so this might work for you. Call up CS and start complaining like a pre-menstral woman 😉

You might want to ask at http://www.howardforums.com

thanks for the advice!

the people charging me are the third party, not Tmobile. We'll see what happens. I'll give a few lawyer friends a few calls and post on howard forums and see what comes up.

Well, was it in the contract?

yes it was. still doesn't justify it.

how do you figure? Becuase you forgot about the charge, you shouldn't have to pay it? 😕

😕

Am I missing something? It was in the contract, which you signed, so why shouldn't you pay it? Becuase it is unfair? You should reply to the "What's the worst you are willing to admit to have been p0wned?" thread.

yeah you've never received a bill that you felt was unfair, bfft. i'll be ignoring you from here on 😀

Maybe them sending it to a collection agency and messing up your credit will make you realize you can't act like a child in the real world.

You should post here next.

Mike, quit being a bitch.

she called me back and the lady used a "strong arm" tactic and tried to act intimdating on the phone. I told her to fax/email me a copy of the contract, and to pls issue a letter with my name on it not this lady from FL.
