So I need a new credit card. What exactly should I be looking for? My credit union offers a Visa with no annual fee, 6.90% - 16.90% APR, and some rewards (not cash) program. I believe my credit is pretty good and I never buy anything with credit card that I can't immediately pay off. There's a chance I might go back to school in a couple years but I'll probably keep my credit union accounts. Are there any other credits that are significantly better?

Get a card with rewards that fit your life.

Do you travel a lot? Get a card with miles and hotel points.
Like cars? Get a card with auto rebate rewards.
Are you an anti-social, pasty hermit? Get a card with no fees and a low interest rate or cash back.

The auto rebate things are crap if you REALLY like cars. Gas, sure, but what self-respecting car nut takes their ride to a mechanic? And how often are you going to be buying a NEW vehicle?

Cash back is the best IMHO. I don't even look at the interest rate anymore...I know it will be ludicrously high, and I know that it'll never matter to me, since I pay off my balance in full. No annual fee is a biggie, unless you're a HUGE spender who can end up making money on the deal.

If you are going to be paying the balance off every month, the APR shouldnt really be a big issue. Look for something with a good rewards program, like AT&T Universal card or maybe an airline mileage reward card with a hefty sign on bonus. AmEx gives 15,000 delta miles with first purchase.
