Either one will jack up your rates to unbelievable levels if you are late on one or two payments.

I've been a few days late on my CitiBank cc before and my interest rate was never jacked up, it's still hovering around 9.x

However I have heard that Chase is notoriously S L O W at applying payments sent via US snail mail. So after I get the Chase card I'll sign up on their site for online payments.

wait a min...visa on Citibank?
i thought Citibank gave all their business to Mastercard...no more visa for Citibank.

Correct, my CitiBank VISA will switch to MC once my cc expires.

Thats good to know because I've started using my citicard more now.

I like my new Chase card:

15 months 0% on purchases / balance transfers
9.74% APR fixed after that
No Annual Fee

beat THAT!

Before assuming that your rate will not be affected by a late payment (which is technically is the day after your payment due date) ... make sure to read ALL the fine print in your account disclosure statements.

I would also consider the NEW Chase Freedom Card which looks promising.

I might even apply for one.

It gives you MORE than CitiBank Dividend Platinum select does.

Not bad, however....

*See Credit Card Offer Terms for details. Balances must be transferred within nine months of account being opened. You cannot transfer any balances from any existing Chase account.
**No annual fee the first year. Thereafter, the $19 annual fee will be waived if at least nine (9) purchase transactions were made in the prior year.
***Some card features and services are provided by independent suppliers who assume full responsibility for their programs.

Am I missing something here, or how is this a good thing?
