Looks awful to me.

I never carry a balance. Ever. Cards without cashback are a waste of my time. An AMEX with a limit would be a waste of my time. Annual fees are a waste of money anway and any card with them is worthless to all but 1% of the population. Anyone worried about late fees has no buisness owning a CC.

Balance transfers should be 0%.... thats like selling an xbox 360 at launch and not offering free overnight.... thats just dumb...

flexibility to pay over time  - they call that a feature???

Meh. I don't carry a balance either, so the 1% / 3% from my Amazon visa and 1% from Cap 1 are both more useful to me. Both have limits, but far above anything I'll charge.

Does it offer free warranty extension and travel insurance like my visas?

i got it last month. i like the features. i did my application online. quick and easy.
normally i always use my points to get toys r us or crate and barrel or banana republic GC's. now i just get $25 for every 2500 spent and its a AMEX GC so i can spend it anywhere.

they gave me a 15k limit, and its not the same as the 15k limit on my older AMEX BLUE  30k monthly limit? i only make that much in 3 months 🙁

syringer, you can keep both like me, or you can cancel the other one.

also, fromt eh brochure i got with the card, i believe they do offer some type of a pricematch or product return guarantee within 90 days if the vendor refuses to take it back

(similar to the green card guarantees, the blue card used to have this but they later took it awway)

and if you forgot to pay ontime, they let you off without a late fee once every 12 months (actually works with my BLUE card too, since i pay ontime 99%, the twice i missed the deadline, they scratched the late fee, AMEX is pretty cool with that as long as you have good history)

I'll stick with my:

Dividend Platinum Select - 5% cash in drugstores, supermarkets, gas stations + 1% cash everywhere else. (everyday usage)

Chase Rewards - 1% everywhere (has a high limit or I would have trashed it by now).

Amex Blue - 1% everywhere (for Costco!)

I'm looking into getting the new Chase Business card though... 3% office supplies, restaurants (key for me), 1% everything else.

So is it conducive to use a credit card as little as possible in order to have a wide gap between your balance/limit..or to use it as much as possible and pay it off every month in order to get the rewards? 😕

I recommend switching your Amex blue to a Amex Costco card. That 1% requires you to spend a lot right? Otherwise its 0.5%.

If oyu use the Amex Costco card, you get 1% everywhere regardless of how much you spend, 2% travel and 3% eating out...

Right and it's better to use cash?

People who don't use credit cards are the losers. What? You can't control your spending? It takes skill and discipline to manage use with a credit card. If you gave me $300 worth of cash and put me in a mall, I would spend it just as fast as if I had a credit card. Why would you EVER waste time looking for change, writing checks, etc when you have a credit card that earns you cash back?

Grow up. It's technology, get with the program.

Earns you cash back from what? The interest they charge?

Question: Why use a credit card if you already have the money to buy it?

And don't use the "too afraid to carry cash" argument.

way to thread crap, people here talk about a new Amex card, and you troll in here with "credit card are for suckers" just go play with your coins and paper money in a corner and stfu

and FYI i never carry cash. i use credit card, im not afraid to, i just like using my card. i never go over my limit either, so i earn incentives back and i never pay interest (my 2 Amex cards are 30k limit monthly)

Here's a few ideas:

-There's no interest if you pay it off right away, and you still receive 1-5% cash back
-More convenient than carrying cash
-Big purchases on credit that are paid off quickly help improve credit
-You can build credit much more quickly through usage of cards rather than never charging anything and having a $0 balance for the life of the card.

I suggest you take a look at:

before you spout more crap out of your arse.

My credit card gives me 5% cash back on gas and grocery purchases and 1% back on all others. If I spend $500 a month in groceries and gasoline, I get a check for $25.

If I use my check card or cash or whatever other form I get ZERO back.

I pay my balance off every month. No interest charge to me what so ever.

Yep, I'm a sucker.

How can you not know how cash back on a credit card works? Are you 15 years old?

I say people that use cash when they could be using a cash back CC are suckers.

I really don't understand why people even respond to JLGatsby still. He is a troll, everything he says is in an effort to get a rise. Ignore him.

How can there be no late fees lol. They HAVE to make money somehow besides the interest.

Citibank has a card named Simplicity that also has no late fees.

Who told you that? They will look at the age of the card and the % utilization. How does the historical usage figure into it? As long as the account is current each month, they don't know if you charged $50k or $1.
