Will multimedia car receivers like Pioneer's AVIC line function in any capacity whatsoever without the hideaway "brain" unit? I'm not even looking to start the "stolen vs legit" argument, but I see the head units alone all the time on eBay with no brain, and was just curious about this from a technical standpoint.
