YACAT: Ghetto equipment, friend's car, stock headunit

Okay. Current vehicle setup is stock all around, four speakers powered off the factory HU (CD)

He bought equipment from a blowout at a local store.

1x Some Ghetto Amp
200Wx2 @ 2ohm
400Wx1 @ 4ohm bridged
High/low pass filters
RCA and speaker-level inputs

2x Sony 10" subs, unsure of model #
150W @ 4ohm

The idea here is to get that crap in the Accord without having to get a new HU. Lower theft visibility, less hacking needed at the front console, and a hopefully simple install (just running the power to the trunk once). So:

1. HU powers front speakers directly, with passive filters to cut out the bass.
2. Both rear speaker wires pulled out and fed via speaker-level inputs to GhettoAmp.
3. Subs set up in "stereo" mode to eat the 200Wx2 @ 2ohm feed at slightly lower output, matching the 150W rating well.

Possible?
Worthwhile?
Will it catch fire?

Thanks. 😛

Care to elaborate? 🙂

I figured it would be fine - with the passive filters in place the stocks should sound okay for mid to high-range, and as long as there's a decent wire run to the amp, there shouldn't be any interference even with high-level inputs. Just got to set the amp properly to avoid clipping/distortion.
