For my 96 Civic sedan, it was recommended since i'm a car audio newbie, to start small. So I decided that I was just going to go for 2 front speakers, 2 rears and a receiver to start with. I decided on:

Blaupunkt MP3000 receiver

Kicker K60 fronts

Kicker K69 rear deck

Later on, I might go for an amp, since they're going to be pretty underpowered connected directly like this. Anyone forsee any problems? there should be only minor modifying needed for them to fit in the factory enclosures. Subtotal rings up to only $449, which I am happy with for now. :) Thanks in advance for any help/insight.

Make sure your deck doesn't have the same chirping issue that the San Jose had a reputation for. Don't buy untill you get a chance to listen first, with your own MP3. My 2¢, good luck!

F*CK that deck and get either the TOP OF THE LINE Eclipse or Alpine! Then get MEGA BASS.. 15" subs with 1000 watts per sub.

i am a newbie, and a non-audiophile. I didn't see reason to buy a $600+ top of the line deck, when I don't need all the features. blaupunkt and alpine came both highly recommended, and so I chose a model to fit my budget.
