Windows, specifically the front ones seem to fail more than I remember from decades past.
My latest gripe is less than 30 days after having my front windshield(2005 Scion xB) replaced (yearly claim allowed by insurance), I get NAILED by fairly big piece coming off a transfer hauler near some local freeway construction. Just below the windshield wiper blade, I could only see the radiating cracks, But from the front it is shattered and will surely go bad soon.:'(
Yay

Ever notice how little teeny bubbles appear in the glass after impacts like that?:|:sneaky😀:

its a laminated windsheild its actully two pieces of glass with heavy plastic in middle of it thats also what keeps that big piece of debris from hitting your face!the bubbles are the air between the two pieces of glass

If the crack is still small you can have it repaired to prevent spreading. Cost is <$100 to have a shop do the job, you can buy a kit for $10 at an auto parts store and do it yourself but the results may not be as good. The only windshield I've had to replace in the last 15 years was due to someone (my sister's ex-boyfriend as far as I can tell) smashing my windshield with a rock while it was sitting in my driveway. If anything the quality of glass has gotten better over the years, I've got a few rock chips that I've had for years and never spread.

If you're having problems it may be how and where you drive.

same happened on my truck. went with huge cracks for a year, finally get it replaced and a flatbed semi drops something off it on the freeway and pegs my new windshield the next week. insurance covered it, but bitched about it the whole time. they also combined the claims and called it an "over $1000 claim" which raised my rate.
