YACameraT: Sony F717 users, do you use any filters?

i have about $15 in paypal that i was looking to spend on the 3 piece filters on ebay. they go for about $25 or so. does anybody have any experience with those? i know i should be looking at the sony forums at dpreview.com, but theres too much info there. thanks

I've got one Sunpak 58mm Circular Polarizer , and that was $23.35 shipped. It's about the only filter I need, and it's rarely used.

the ebay 3 packs include the UV, polarizer, and FD. i have no experiences with filters so i wanted to know if the ones on ebay are crap or not.

I keep a UV on my 35mm stuff all the time. I know when to use polarizing filters but I really can't explain it correctly so I won't even bother trying.

Why would I need one?

The polarizer blocks light in one direction, to reduce glare. If you've ever seen professional photos that have a rich blue sky, this filter is the reason.

I will NOT cover my lens routinely with a 'haze' filter. It's already got Zeiss patented coatings, and I always use my lens cover for protection.
