No this isn't what you think it is. Seeing the breastfeeding thread and recent discussions with my wife (she has breastfed 4 babies), we were wondering if anyone has, knows someone who has had breast augmentation/enlargement (two different things) done.

How much was it?

How long was the surgery?

Outpatient?

recovery?

setbacks/problems?

results?

Would you/they go through it again?

Was it worth it?

This is meant to be a serious discussion, please don't threadcrap and...
NO, I will not post pics of my wife's breasts. (But maybe if you're lucky I will post before and afters, if she gets the surgery)

most of the people here haven't even seen a breast that wasn't on a computer screen. so i dunno how many serious replies you will get. my wife and i have talked about a lift when she's one breastfeeding (our first was just born 3 weeks ago today, we're still discussing possibilities of a second but that won't be for awhile), but she has no interest in an enlargement.

I knew a gal that got breast reduction and coupled with my research I do know some stuff so I hope you don't mind my replying:

How much was it?
-If you can prove it's for a medical reason such as back pain, insurance should cover it. Regular breast augmentation however, should range anywhere from 2,000 to 10,000.

How long was the surgery?
-Length of the surgery approximately 2 hours but each patient is different.

Outpatient?
-Yes. Remember though that you can get it not only at a hospital, but a clinic as well.

recovery?
-Can resume normal activities within a week. Must be bandaged around the torso and take it easy though.

setbacks/problems?
-Saline implants can rupture causing joint damage. Infection as with any surgery. Must not do any strenuous activity for approximately 6 weeks.

results?
-sorry no pics! do a Google for that! ;)

Would you/they go through it again?
-My friend said she wasn't sure. No one like's pain.

Was it worth it?
-For her at the time, it was at the moment but perhaps not long term.

A few...

First, my oldest sister, who had several miscarriages but never a full term birth. Her breasts didn't appreciate the hormone fluctuations and she was left with a depressing reminder of the past... so she had C cup sized saline implants. Not sure how much it cost, but she didn't seem to have any problem with them. She has had them for 8 years now and I haven't heard of any problems.

Second, a friend of mine just wanted to make herself look better (she was already a knock out, but she wanted big boobs). The doctor made them bigger than she wanted and she had a lot of pain/scarring from the procedure. She said 'make them a C' and he made them DD. Then they were sagging so she had to have them lifted. I love her dearly but she's way out of proportion. Very skinny woman with HUGE boobies with stretched to the limit skin. She definitely turns heads...

Whatever you do, make SURE the doctor doing the procedure knows what you want and is not going to do what he thinks would look best!!!! It's one thing to fill extra skin, quite another to try to stuff your skin to the limit. It's just MHO, but breasts that look like they are engorged and painful are not pretty. Stick with what would look natural... a B or a C for most women.

Good luck!

thanks for the responses. I have tried google and seen many of the before and afters, but most doctors do not list their costs online.

My wife wants to get them lifted for the most part as the breastfeeding has taken a toll on the skin.

CPA...

While you are researching surgery, don't forget about what physical training can do for the old bod. I saw a personal trainer for a couple of years and it made a big difference for me. You would be surprised at how much of a difference good, toned chest muscles and back muscles can make! I had considered a lift myself, but I don't really need one now. But--- I also have rather thick olive skin that has retained a lot of elasticity.

Best Wishes to you and your family!

My wife has actually lost 40 pounds in the last 5 months with aerobics, weight-training and diet. The problem now is that while she has lost fat in her hips and such it has only accentuated the breast area and the issue she has. Her cup size has dropped significantly since she started working out, but that hasn't taken away the stretch marks or the droopiness.

Get more than one consultation...that's all I know! :)

'Huge' might look awesome in a top, but usually in the rack it's not so great. Hmm, they just kind of lay in her armpits. So what it comes down to is this:
Gravity sucks.

Baffled2, without sounding like a horny virgin dweeb, is the reason you are looking into it to enlarge or lift due to childbirth or gravity?

My wife and I would be interested to know what you got out of your initial consultations.

A friend of mine had a reduction... lost 16 lbs in a matter of a few hours.
