He deserved it, but if Roger had just gotten a little more run support, things would've been different.

Now all i need is for Pujols to win the NL MVP and ill be fine, but thats another story.

Carp has been dominant all season, he deserved this. Willis and Clemens put together incredible seasons though, it was a good race!

clemens definitely needed the run support. if he had the wins, even around 18 of em', he would've been a shoe-in imo.

I'd say that over the course of 32 - 34 games, that makes a difference. However, I did notice that of his first four games, 3 were 0-1 losses. Ouch. He pitched a total of 9 games where they didn't score a single run.

Edit: BTW, those are total MLB stats, not just NL.

yep, that sucks. and that era is just sickening. oh well, carpenter has had a great couple of years now. hopefully the injuries of his past dont come back to haunt him and he can emerge as one of the great pitchers of our time.

btw, looking at peavy's numbers... he's been painted a sad story also. a lot of games where he only gave up a run or two but didnt get the run support either. shame, he had good strikeout and era numbers, but no love in the win column.

He was undrafted in my 8 person league, and I picked him up a month or two in and he was gold until the last month.

I was in a 12-team league with 29-player rosters...now that was some deep waiver wire searching.

I did a really interesting thing to win my pitching categories. We had 9 pitching spots and it was a daily transaction league. I used 6 relievers and then rotated 4-5 starters (depending on matchups) into the 3 starting spots. For the relievers I only drafted one closer (Rivera), and then I had two semi-closers in Hermanson and Farnsworth that I grabbed off the waiver wire. The other 3 reliever spots I had some wicked setup men in (Wheeler, Gordon, Linebrink, and a couple others). I got tons of Ks from those guys along with major WHIP and ERA help for very few innings (had 1400 inning limit).
