YAB(ike)T: Question About Tires

A friend of mine just gave me his Trek 930...He had put road tires on there...They're 26x1.5"...It's a mountain bike, and I want mountain bike/semi-hybrid tires on it...Can I get 26x1.75" tires and put them on the wheels?

Nice...Thanks for the links...I got some, now I just need to figure out how to get the old ones off...They've got a metal plate around the rim that goes inside the wheel...Proving to be a pain to get out...

i used to have a 930.

green and purple paint. alas it was stolen, but no loss since it had 8000 miles on it and needed a pretty serious tuneup.

The guy that gave it to me had his other one (also a 930) stolen...I like the look of it...Getting the tire off is going to be the hard part, though...
