YAATOT Travel Blog: going to Key West, how long do I need to see it all?

I am heading to Key West in October and am wondering how many days I need to see what there is to see.

I can take between 9 and 13 days off, but I don't know if I really need that much time in such a small place.

Right now I am leaning towards 9 days and saving my last 2 days off for a long weekend through the mountains during the fall color season.

Can anyone who has been to Key West give me some thoughts.

No personal experience but my co-worker's brother lives there, and she said you could see everything in 3 days based on her visits. People who stay for a lot longer are generally going fishing on charter boats and/or scuba diving every day.

The island itself, 3 days for everything.

Fishing, snorkeling, and diving can add another year.

I enjoy the Keys. Don't limit yourself to just Key West, look around at other close Keys.
