With all the animal threads tonight, I would like to offer mine.
A few of you already know that I do a lot of animal rescue. Details of this, can be found here
But that is not the purpose of this thread.
Last Tuesday, 11/09/04, our beautiful Robyn got hit by a car. Her jaw was shattered, leg was broken and she suffered severe brain damage. After recussitation ... She stated showing signs of progress, and even showed response when I called her name and stroked her broken body. But after 2 1/2 hours, she stopped breathing again, and I had to make the decision to let her go. There was less than a 30% chance that she would have survived, and it she did, we could not tell the extent of her brain damage.
We said goodbye to her, kissing, loving and telling her that we love her... She did not die in the cold street, and she felt no pain.
Now, I know that cats do not have a long life expectancy if let outdoors, but Robyn was a stray, feral cat who showed up at a shelter, and they could not keep her in a cage, as she freaked out and needed to be let outside. She was an outdoor cat, and only came in to sleep and eat.
Many think they are just pets, but they are not. They all have their own personalities, historys and places in our hearts.

P.S. I am just sharing what in heavy in my heart for the past week. No trolls, please!
