it is very good, although i like champaloo better, just because the story line makes more sense.

I like the Samurai7 story line so far. All we know from champloo is that they are looking for someone who smell like sunflowers.. wtf?? (didnt see the last 2 ep's).

well keep in mind translation isnt all that great as is with most comedy series. even with my super n00b japanese i couldnt help noticing glaring flaws 😕 you may not get some of the jokes, feel free to pm me i think i know most of them if not all 🙂
 
i watched the first and second eps, it was ok... but i didn't like it cuz two days before i saw the original kurosawa film and that makes any remake look like crap

just finished shura no toki earlier today... its been a downhill since the fight with musashi, but overall quite enjoyable series. fighting / competition is the last genre i would get into, but this one hit the spot (sorta) check it out, you guys might like it too...
as far as new stuff goes, School Rumble and Gunbuster 2 really shine above the rest.

other than genshiken and two futakoi series, i am just about done checking out new stuff... well, at least till Iriya no Sora and Kore ga watashino goshujin sama come out next year...
 
do you guys know where to find the whole of the samurai7 series? I only had eps 1 and 2. Anime-Suki is a no-go and suprnova only has 1, 2, and 1-8 in french....

it will be hard to get them now because its license and all but IY-F took their releases down
 
Samurai Champloo is more like Cowboy Bebop (both are directed by Shinichiro Watanabe) in that it follows a more episodic path, with the main plot getting advanced in chunks every couple episodes. Samurai 7 is based upon the classic film Seven Samurai by Akira Kurosawa, but of course it is going to diverge and have plenty of additions considering it's a 26 episode series compared to a 3 hour movie. That and it's quasi sci-fi...

Samurai 7 has been licensed for US distribution so most groups have dropped it. My favorite release of it is from Anime-Kraze, but they only have it out through ep 3. They haven't said anything about stopping but they are quite behind.
