After the stellar responses to the Friend punched out a girl thread I got to thinking.

Imagine being attacked by a crazed girlfriend. She's got a gigantic spoon and takes a large swing. Perhaps the correct response would be to perform a judo throw to avoid the complications caused by striking a female. How does ATOT feel?

I wouldnt think a spoon would hurt me that bad....so I would probably walk off and just guilt trip the hell out of her.

I would think that I'd be able to restrain her (ie: grab her arm and get the spoon away), but if she came at me with a knife or deadly weapon, well, then someone's getting a broken arm at least. Granted, I cannot even remotely see this happening with my GF, so not much of an issue.

yeah i think it really depends on the situation. unless she caught me totally off guard, she probably couldn't get in a hit on me, but if she was coming at me with the intent of harm restraint would probably my first course of action. Like scott said though, if there was the possibility i could be seriously wounded, all bets are pretty much off. In response to the other thread, if some chick picks up a large metal spoon, i don't think i would haul off and punch her in the nose...

First of all this thread has a poll. Second, it's discussing an alternative to a boyfriend striking his deranged broad, not a discussion of that incident in question or other related stories.
