YA Used Car T: Based on how they appear (i.e. everything is as it seems) are these two good buys?

I'm going to be buying a used car around August or so, so I started to look at some. I was thinking a 93-95 Legend.

Background: I drive approximately 10k miles a year, if that (I commute by PT to work). I'd like a nice car with a nice ride and little maintenence as possible. How hard do you get banged in insurance on a car like this vs. say a 2007 Accord? (with a clean driving record)

That first one looks molested. Stay away.

I'd try and get something < 100k miles.

I'd look for an ES300 and also consider a fully loaded mid to late 90's Maxima. You'll get more car for your money since there are more of them out there driving prices down. There's not a lot of Legends and they are far overpriced for the miles they have.

the dark red/purple one is pretty nice.

id like to stay below 100k miles it's hard to find those ac's at that price.

That first one I wouldnt touch, owned by a kid, not maintained, stay away (BTW rims are a dead give away its kid owned and prolly beat to hell and back again)
2nd one, more upscale, doesnt look messed with, interior is clean and well maintained and so should have the car based on what I see in just the pictures and going on what I see.
#2 would get my vote hands down as a clear winner.

run away from the first one. any time you see something aftermarket on a car, run away. the second one is ok, but consider that you could have an Accord of the same year for about $1500 less, and the accord would be a generation newer than the legend, which is based on the previous generation's accord. so they ought to be pretty comparable in terms of ride, etc. i haven't driven the legend, but i've driven both generations of accord, and the 95 accord is far superior to the 4th gen accords in terms of handling, ride, luxury, speed, etc. i think if you're willing to spend $5K, i'd put it into the best accord you can find rather than an acura. you're better off buying something with lower miles than brand image.
