It looks like nothing in pictures... but when you see it in person... with reflections over it... its very noticeable... especially if its your car. :(

I am always kinda grateful for that first door ding - it takes the pressure off driving a brand new car for me for some reason. That looks like a good one for paintless dent repair, where they would just push it out from the inside. Hopefully that would not involve removing the body panel. I would not personally spend any meaningful amount of money to fix this, because it's just no big deal.

Man, that sucks. Having just bought a new car myself, I can tell you I am NOT looking forward to my first door ding, rock flying up into my windshield on the highway, or other type of nuisance.

Sucks. Have a

Hmm yeah, you're right. I bought the car on October and I'm still stressing out over where to park and all that. I guess this does take some of the pressure off... but I walk out to the car and zero right in on it. One, because it's on the driver's side, and two, the car is so shiny that you can obviously see the distortion in the reflection. Anyway, I think i'll get over it. I'll look into PDR... but I heard it's $100-$150 and it's per door panel. THanks for the moral support, my girlfriend wouldn't understand, heheheh.

I know what you mean, and I do feel for you. I always wonder whether I could deal with the hassle of having a car where you really DO have to park it away from other vehicles for financial reasons (a Ferrari or something of that ilk). I guess people don't typically use those kinds of cars for a trip to the mall or whatever. An M3 is probably the nicest car I can seriously imagine driving, and I wouldn't feel I needed to park one out in the distant reaches of the parking lot.

Sorry to see bro, it actually shouldn't be too expensive to get that out. My last car i had a ding far worse than that, a body shop qouted me $50 to get it out. As long as the paint isn't damaged, PDR should be able to fix it.

Yeah, if you're so concerned, why do you park where inconsiderate fvcktards can screw it up?

I park mine strategically... ALWAYS. There's always a chance some POS could find a way to fvck it up, but I make a decent effort to lower those chances. I count on walking a fair distance. It's worth it!

use the LCD screen

The Camera is a Fuji 2600.. you can barely see the LCD outside! :)

Anyway I called a PDR place. ~$75. I guess I'll fix it sometime in the future.. I'll save this ding as my emotional ding shield.

Looking under the car, I cannot conceive a way to get to that body panel without drilling a hole.

EDIT: Wait, maybe I can figure out how to remove the fenderwell.

I think you can remove the fenderwell - don't quote me on that - should just be plastic with self tapping screws - I don't feel like getting up and checking but I think you could the last time I washed my car. (I usually wash the fenderwell as well) BTW, sucks about the ding. I'm still fearing my first one. There's a slight nick near the front from rocks, but that's unavoidable.

I baby'd my truck for the longest time. Only last year, 7 years after owning it, I got my first mark... a foot-long shopping cart mark... and I have no clue when it happened... but after a few days, I got over it.

I think it's a lot tougher on a new car. Last October is still considered new, I think... but if there's nothing you can do about it... well give it more time and you'll live with it.

Just took a peek.. it's the rear side of the fender well that is held in place by self tapping screws. I cannot find any screws in the forward facing side of the fenderwell. Oh "well". Har har.
