I do agree that it is screwed up that she was in custody for 32 hours. Kind of sketchy on the details if someone was trying to get her released or not. Or could they not get in touch with her family or ...

I was surprised that it is a thing where they live in Mexico and then attend school in California. I would think that this shouldn't be allowed and only adds to the danger of these small kids crossing the border on their own unaccompanied by an adult.

Yeah something sounds weird about the story, however I have no doubt she was held.
Related but slightly off topic. This is exactly my point about voter ID.
I’m not totally against the idea provided there is some compromise but simple point is whom gets to decide if the ID is valid and the picture on the ID matches the person voting.
Seems like part of the reason she was held was because she didn’t appear to be the same person on her ID per the boarder people.

Threads like this make me wonder: what does it take to get the law-and-order small government conservative posters here to care about the government unlawfully detaining their fellow American citizens?
It happening to them, or Fox convincing them it will happen to them.

That's it.

There are two main scenarios to explain kids crossing the border in border towns to go to US schools.

The kids are Mexican citizens whose families are middle to upper class in Mexico. The families are wealthy enough to pay for them to go to private schools in the US close to the border and to get student visas. Example linked earlier.

The immigrant parents have kids on the US side then the family moves to a border town on the Mexico side for some reason, like the cost of living became too high on the US side and they could not afford it anymore but they still want their US citizen kids to have a US education. They would normally get a US passport card to allow the kids to go back and forth across the border. I would presume school taxes vary from border state to border state, county to county so I don't know how their school system gets paid.

Thanks. I had never heard of this before.

That's happened for generations. The same thing has been going on with our northern border for at least as long. Hell, some towns are both in the US and in Canada with no discernible border.

Is that odd on the northern border?

I would think it is odd, but I don't live near any of these borders. So I had never heard of this before..

Yes, if they are not paying the school taxes as required by the local regulations etc.

1. Do you know ow if they are attending a private or public school?

2. Do you know if they are not paying? Many public school districts will accept kids from out of the district if the parents pay.

3. Please cut the specific policies of the school or school district they are attending, be specific in how these kids don’t meet this policies and should not be allowed to attend.

You are arguing from a place of profound ignorance since I don’t believe any of these items have been covered in the reporting.

As I see your reading skills suck I'll explain.

1.) I'm not arguing.

2.) I said the article was light on details and I had never heard of this as a thing. I don't live near any border town.

3.) But of course you at least get to be a smart ass about it and make shitty remarks.

Thanks for your participation.

You poor triggered man. You don’t have to live near a border town to be aware of private schools or paying a school district directly to attend.

Then why the fuck to you presume to know anything about the border?

Because Fox News told him to worry about it even thou they probably know less about the border and the history of the towns and cities that are along the border.

Edit: Gotta love how pcgeek disagrees with my post saying that he doesn't know shit about our border and then goes ahead and admits it a few posts later.

What I disagree with is your asinine post that has nothing to do with kids crossing the border to attend school in another country. As you even stated in your post " before there was a United States of America".

I quoted it below.

DarthKyrie, post:

Now don't go confusing him with things that are a result of our colonial past before there was a United States of America, like how most of the western half of the US was part of Mexico. Mexico made a giant mistake allowing white people to settle in their country, I am sure if they knew that those same white people would take two-thirds of their country away from them they would never have allowed them in.

Where did I presume?

In my original post I said:

You guys are the most triggered people I have ever seen.

I see who me got ahold of pcgeek’s account again.

Hopefully he can secure that someday.
