Alright. I am the driving bitch of the group. I ask for money. She refuses to pay (even though I say it before we go anywhere). She keeps telling me that it isn't right and that I should drive friends around for free. Do you think it is reasonable for an unemployed teenager to split the cost of gas evenly with the people he drives around?

If they don't want to ride in your car you can kick them out. Tell them to get their own car and pay for their own gas.

Depends on if a) you're doing the driving strictly as a favor or all of you are going somewhere together and b) how far you're driving.

If you're just driving everyone to the local Outback once a month for dinner, then yeah, you're being a bitch.

If you're driving more than 30 mins away on a weekly basis or more to drop them off somewhere... then its fair to ask for some money.

Here is the most recent one (the one that started me realizeing this). We were all hanging out at the mall, and were giong to do something afterwords, and we were waiting for her "bf" to get off work. He was supposed to get off at 9. We have to wait til 9:30. On the way back, she decides she wants to see a movie, and most people want to as well (there was 7 of us), 3 of us didn't. Me and another person who didn't were the drivers. We got bitched into dropping them off at a movie theature (at like 10:15). Out of my way, and I wasn't even going to the movie (not enought $$, I put it all int hte tank) I don't get a thanks, money, anything. Does this make me seem like I am the driving bitch?

PS: She does have her licence, she is just scared to drive

stick up for yourself. Be like "no, my car, my car. Fawk off." I don't mind driving friends around, but in your situation you're just being taken advantage of.

You need to tell that bitch to STFU and get the fvck out of your car. You have your own life and you are not her driver. You know what, don't drive her around anymore. It ends here. DO IT! Give yourself some peace of mind.

It does get more complicated. We have been friends awhile, and our parents are best friends. Forgot to say that. And she wouldn't need to pay if people drove eqauly, but it doens't happen that way.

It's cool to drive friends here and there sometimes, but to actually do it all the time and have them offer NOTHING in return? Toastedlighty, it's time to draw the line.

You have my support. DO IT.

Next time don't offer her a lift etc. Tell her she is 'rich' enough to get a taxi.

Is she too young to drive or something?!

She has her licence, and a new (7k miles) 2003 Jeep Liberty fully loaded. She is afraid of driving/is very incompetant.

She thinks I am an asshole, i'm just looking to see that I am not being (too big) of one.

WTF. She has a fully loaded car and she doesn't drive it. Tell her to fvck off man. Get some balls and tell even her parents and your parents. This has got to end. If you don't do anything about it, it will drag and you still be even more pissed off.

Uhm, I never ask for money from friends for little stuff like this. Too me it degrades the purpose of being friends, right?. I mean are you really that pissed off that she doesn't give you 2 dollars for driving her somewhere, in my opinion it's really petty and shouldn't be a hassle. Life and friends is more than the money I put in my gas tank, or how much my insurance costs, and it's definately is more than complaining about a couple bucks.

edit after further reading: If she does it ALL the time, I'm assuming like a helpless computer n00b that calls all the time only for computer help, I would do some more coaxing to get her to drive her own car, but if that fails then learn to say 'No, I can't', unless it would be fusking them over and stranded somewhere.
