YA(Ebay)T: Are all transactions within your state taxable?

Say you won an auction and the seller was from the same state. He/she is a private seller and not a business. Is ebay charging him with tax and therefore forcing the seller to pass that onto the buyer?

Technically yes, a lot of people ignore it.

Sales tax written longhand is sales and use tax. Some people feel like they should collect it.

eBay does not collect taxes on the items.

However, sellers that pay taxes properly will collect it. (Like myself)
