Hi all,

Has anyone tried mounting fans in their case as describe below?

  • Inflow: Fans at the front bottom of the casing (like countless cases being sold)
  • Outflow: Fans at the front top of the casing (where the 5 1/4 bays are)

Is the above setup similar to having output fans at the back top of the casing?

Thanks.

I had this setup at one point and time myself.

The only bad thing is, there is no real air flow in your case. If the exhaust is the the back, then the air comes in, passes over your goodies, and goes out. With the setup you've listed, the air doesn't flow as much. While it won't hurt you, it would be better off having exhaust in the rear of your case for better air flow.

Ah, just as what I suspected :( I guess I still have to somehow drill a hole at the back of my casing then :(

What about having both output fans at the back and in front of the casing? Will that create a positive airflow?
